Teaching Assistant / SEN Support (Full time / Term-time)
32.5 hours per week, 44.8 weeks per year, working hours in line with school hours usually 08:30–15:30 or 08:45–15:45 (can vary slightly)
LBR Scale 3, Scale Point 5-6
£ 28,521 - £ 28,929 FTE per annum dependent on experience
(£22,123.44 - £22,439.21 pro-rated value)

Person specification (essential)
- Qualification: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (or working towards)
- Functional skills: Level 2 (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths (Science desirable)
- SEN experience: demonstrable experience with young people with special educational needs or
- Safeguarding: commitment to safeguarding young people; Enhanced DBS required
Key responsibilities
- Support teachers in planning and delivering learning activities across the curriculum, with particular focus on literacy, numeracy and practical science where required
- Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN, including autism, helping them access the curriculum and develop independence
- Work with small groups and individuals to deliver intervention programmes, remedial lessons and differentiated activities
- Assist with classroom management, maintaining positive behaviour and promoting inclusion and wellbeing
- Record and maintain accurate student records: observations, progress notes, behaviour logs and any required statutory documentation
- Support daily routines, personal care, and welfare needs as required; follow health & safety, hygiene and safeguarding procedures
- Contribute to team meetings, pupil reviews, multi-agency meetings and CPD activities as required
