Jazz Pharmaceuticals are looking for a R&D Process Improvement Summer intern. You will be responsible for driving process improvement efforts across R&D to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.

Qualification Requirements
Currently enrolled in or already hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, or related field

Salary - £24,000 per annum pro-rata

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm with 60 minute lunch break.

Duration - 6 weeks (with option to extend up to 3 months)

Job Description

This R&D Process Improvement Intern works closely with R&D Process Improvement Manager, Business Process Owners (BPOs) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and author R&D-owned process documents (e.g., SOPs, WIs, etc.). This role is responsible for driving process improvement efforts across R&D to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in creating and updating process documents (e.g., SOPs, Work Instructions) under guidance.

  • Support process mapping activities using tools like Microsoft Visio.

  • Help maintain document records in the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).

  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with Business Process Owners (BPOs) and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

  • Contribute to inspection readiness activities and periodic document reviews.

  • Learn and apply best practices for process improvement and compliance.


Candidate Requirements

Skills

  • Interest in pharmaceutical/biotechnology R&D processes.

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Visio is a plus

  • Ability to solve problems, interact with others and manage a varied workload.

  • Is self-motivated to achieve high quality results within defined timeframes

  • Attention to detail
