Laboratory Technician (Chemistry)
Salary: £25,300
Hours: Monday-Friday, 35 hours a week with 1 hour for lunch (flexible start/finish on offer)
Based near Deeside

We are recruiting a Laboratory Technician on behalf of a well-established chemical company, supporting Quality Control and environmental testing activities.

Key Duties:

• Routine chemical and analytical testing
• Recording and reporting results, including Certificates of Analysis
• Equipment checks and calibrations
• Environmental sampling (water and effluent)
• Assisting with method development and validation activities
• Supporting Health & Safety activities
• Supporting safe handling and packing of dangerous goods

Laboratory Techniques

The laboratory uses a wide range of analytical techniques. Experience with some of the following would be beneficial:

• Chromatographic techniques (GC, HPLC)
• Spectroscopic methods (UV/Vis, FTIR)
• Wet chemistry and titration techniques (including Karl Fischer)
• Environmental and effluent testing (BOD, COD, pH, density, viscosity)

Full training can be provided where required.

Requirements:

• Educated to A Level (or equivalent) in Chemistry or Science, or a relevant Degree; previous laboratory experience is helpful, and full training will be provided
• Good attention to detail and numeracy
• Basic IT skills (Excel/Word)
