Salary: National Minimum Wage (Depending on Age)
Shifts: Monday- Friday 09:00- 17:00
Contract Type: Temporary- Permanent
The Company
Our client, a Chemical Manufacturing company are currently recruiting for a Trainee Health & Safety Administrator to join their team.
As a Trainee Health & Safety Administrator, you will support the company's Training Academy and the Health, Safety and Environmental Supervisor. This dual role involves administrative tasks related to training and providing support for the Health & Safety initiatives on-site. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient operation of the Training Academy and maintaining a safe working environment.
As the Trainee Health & Safety Administrator, your duties will be: -
Training Academy Support
- Liaise with trainers, awarding bodies, colleagues, and customers to book courses and assessments.
- Coordinate training schedules and communicate with participants.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of training materials.
- Maintain accurate training records.
- Handle registrations, confirmations, and follow-up communications for training sessions.
Health, Safety & Environmental Support
- Book employee Health & Safety training (new and refreshers) and ensure these are logged.
- Conduct weekly site audits using iAuditor and implement corrective actions.
- Ordering of staff PPE and ensuring adequate stock is kept on site.
- Updating monthly KPI's.
- Assist in logging and investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses and ensure all documentation is up to date.
- Attend Health & Safety meetings.
- Identify and mitigate hazards around the site to eliminate risk where possible.
- Liaise with the Health, Safety and Environmental Supervisor on a day-to-day basis.
The successful Trainee Health & Safety Administrator will have the following skills: -
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey safety information and training.
- Proficient with Microsoft packages Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Display a "can-do" attitude.
- Embrace continuous improvement, pro-actively looking for ways to progress and enhance self and work.
- Highly organised, able to manage own workload, whilst working quickly and accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail.
