Manufacturing Technician - 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract- Shift Work

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Manufacturing Technicians to join a specialist pharmaceutical manufacturing environment on a 12 month fixed-term contract, with a strong possibility of becoming permanent. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys hands-on production work, thrives in a highly regulated setting, and wants to play a key part in supporting both commercial supply and clinical manufacturing activities.

This role involves a 24/5 shift pattern and so you ideally would have access to your own vehicle or live locally.

The Role

Working as part of a production team, you will support the manufacture of high-potency pharmaceutical materials in line with cGMP requirements. The role will involve preparing manufacturing areas, operating and monitoring equipment, maintaining accurate documentation, and helping to ensure production suites remain inspection ready at all times. You will also contribute to safe working practices, stock control, sample handling, and efficient day-to-day operations across the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out manufacturing activities in accordance with cGMP procedures, SOPs and site quality standards.
  • Prepare production areas through line clearance, suite readiness checks, structured monitoring and housekeeping activities.
  • Operate, monitor and support manufacturing equipment in line with process requirements.
  • Complete batch documentation, logbooks and production records accurately and on time.
  • Support stock management, BOM checks, sample control and inventory-related tasks.
  • Perform cleaning, changeovers and basic equipment care to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Identify process deviations, equipment issues or quality concerns and escalate where appropriate.
  • Maintain high ESH and 5S standards to ensure work areas remain safe, organised and audit ready.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across production and support functions to achieve manufacturing targets.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within pharmaceutical, chemical or other highly regulated industries.
  • Science graduates will also be considered for these roles.
  • Understanding of GMP and the importance of quality, compliance and documentation is beneficial.
  • Confidence working with production equipment and following detailed operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to record keeping.
  • A proactive and team-oriented attitude, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Good communication skills and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • A science, engineering or technical qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential.
  • Flexibility to support shift-based operations where required.

Why Apply?

This position offers the chance to join a growing and highly specialised manufacturing operation where quality, safety and teamwork are central to success. In return, you will gain valuable experience in an advanced pharmaceutical setting and benefit from the opportunity to move into a permanent role for the right individual.

If you are looking for your next step in pharmaceutical manufacturing and want to join a business where you can make an immediate impact, we would be keen to hear from you.
