ROLE: Forklift Operator
LOCATION: Wellingborough
HOURS OF WORK: 2pm - 10pm
BASIC SALARY: £14.35 per hour
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Yearly bonus, 33 days holiday, pension, free parking

To operate various types of MHE, namely forklift trucks in a safe manner working efficiently to supply Production areas with components and to then remove pallets of finished goods. Responsible for supporting the delivery of manufacturing production performance targets by following agreed operating procedures and actively participating in continuous improvement methodologies to improve performance in terms of HSE, quality, cost, delivery and team development.
In this Forklift Operator role, you will:
- Operate MHE in a safely manner and in accordance with training
- Carry out daily pre-start checks before using equipment
- Operate other equipment safely as necessary in the role in accordance with training
- To participate in handover activities between shifts to promote teamwork and excellence in communication
- To complete all administration related tasks in a timely fashion to support the accurate booking in of finished goods
- To participate in stock checking activities to support stock accuracy targets
- Maintain an excellent standard of housekeeping
- Organise components required for production runs in a timely manner in order to keep the lines running and the OEE on target or above
- Communicate clearly, effectively and professionally at all times and at all levels, including manufacturing, ensuring line performance is maintained
- Escalate issues and concerns to your Supervisor or Shift Manager
- Actively participate in safety, quality and continuous improvement activities
- Have a sound knowledge of systems and procedures and carry out all work in a safe manner, reporting any issues via the appropriate system
In order to be successful as a Forklift Operator you must:
- Counterbalance forklift truck license minimum requirement - other licenses an advantage
- Ideally a qualification in Maths and English - must be competent in numeracy to read and understand numbers, works orders, filling records, interpret and manipulate data where required
- Experience in production, packing and warehousing environments, ideally chemical handling
- Excellent verbal communication and teamwork skills to work with colleagues to achieve individual and team targets
- A commitment to safety, to themselves and their colleagues
- Eye for detail and quality focussed to ensure the highest standards are received by the Customer
- Desire to champion the company values and grow with the business
- Can do attitude with a strong work ethic and a desire to keep improving
