Laboratory Operations Technician

Chesterford Research Park, Cambridge

3-5 month contract (Sick cover - high potential to go permanent)

Up to £15.87 per hour 

Cpl Life Sciences have partnered with a company that develops clinical microbiome therapies. We are seeking a driven, organised, and proactive Laboratory Operations Technician to work within the Laboratory Operations team based at the Chesterford Research Park, south of Cambridge, UK. The role is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to contribute to the development of a new class of medicines.

Main responsibilities:

• Support the scientific teams as required for the supply of microbiological media and reagents, together with ensuring clean glassware supply and lab waste disposal

• Support the supply of compressed gas and liquid nitrogen to the laboratories, including changing gas cylinders and re-filling cryo storage vessels

• Ensure laboratories are appropriately supplied, including stock ordering, receipt and distribution

• Perform basic laboratory and facilities checks

• Assist with building, laboratory and facilities maintenance by meeting and hosting on-site engineers

• Work in compliance with Health and Safety Regulations

Qualifications:

• A background in biological sciences or relevant scientific laboratory experience

Essential experience/knowledge:

• Operational support in a biological sciences laboratory

• Preparation of sterile laboratory supplies, including microbiological media

• Stock management

• Laboratory health and safety
