Located in Birmingham, their team of friendly and dedicated professionals is the heartbeat of their business.

They are currently seeking an Analytical Chemist to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

What you’ll be doing

- Ensuring assay samples are collected from the relevant production departments, logged into the material database ready to be tested
- Unknown metal samples are screened using techniques such as XRF, to determine constituent parts of the alloys and enabling selection of the correct analysis method
- Ensuring samples that require analysis by an external company are dispatched to agreed timescales
- Gold, silver and platinum is quickly and accurately analysed using various methods (fire assay, titration and ICP techniques) - to allow the release of the precious metal into the business

About You

- A degree qualification in a Chemistry related discipline (or equivalent), and at least one year’s industry experience in a similar role (post qualification).
- Experience of using ICP, XRF, Potentiometric Titration methods.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to also use initiative and work independently.
- A highly organised, methodical approach.
- A willingness to learn new techniques, multitask processes for efficiency, keep accurate records, and follow instructions.
- Maintenance of a clean and safe working environment.
- General administration skills & computer literacy.
