Formulation Chemist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Formulation Chemist, ideally with a background in inorganic fertiliser formulation or other sectors. We are looking for a skilled individual to join our R&D team and contribute to the development of new and existing products.
Day to Day of the role:
- Formulate new fertilisers in line with NPD briefs from internal and external stakeholders.
- Optimise existing formulas as part of EPD.
- Conduct research on organic ingredients to align our product portfolio with market trends, focusing on organic fertilisers, bio stimulants, and bio pesticides.
- Source and evaluate innovative raw materials such as wetters, dispersants, antifoams, suspension agents, and other adjuvants.
- Approve alternative suppliers for existing raw materials.
- Perform stability and accelerated ageing tests to meet shelf-life and transport stability commitments.
Specific duties:
- Author MSDS documents, with training provided if necessary.
- Translate information from MSDSs to CLP guidance documents for legal export labelling.
- Approve product artwork, ensuring compliance with CLP and nutrient analysis details.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in product development from concept to launch.
- Experience in an ISO accredited environment or equivalent management systems such as GLP/GMP.
- Familiarity with EU Fertilising Product Regulations 2019 (FPR) is desirable.
- Inorganic fertilisers formulation experience (dry, solution and suspension grades) or formulation experience in other sectors (personal care, homecare, coatings etc)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including MS Office 365 & MS Navision Dynamics.
- Experience with LIMS or similar databases.
- MSDS authorship experience is desirable.
- Strong planning, coordination, and organisational skills.

Standard working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of additional hours to meet business needs.
