The placement will be in Analytical and Strategic Operations (ASO) team at Moreton. The student will be trained in aspects of pharmaceutical analysis, many of which are instrumentally based.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The ASO team at Moreton focuses on providing analytical solutions to the medicinal products under development at Bristol-Myers Squibb. The team applies fundamental scientific understanding of chemistry using analytical tools in the evaluation and validation of methods to support a wide variety active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug products.
As part of the placement the student would conduct a research project which could involve the evaluation of a new analytical technique or the development of a method using new technology which would ultimately benefit BMS.
After appropriate training, the placement student will be involved in all aspects of the work within the team and will benefit from the experience of working with a group of analytical chemists, with diverse capabilities. They will be fully integrated into the team and contribute to the team’s overall success.
The student will be given full training to comply with the requirements of working in a regulated environment and complying with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). The student will be expected to comply with ALL requirements where Safety, Health and the Environment are involved.
Skills required
A keen interest in Analytical Chemistry and a capability of working successfully in a team. The successful candidate should be interested in performing analysis using a range of analytical techniques including HPLC, Dissolution testing and MS
