We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Health and Safety Technician to join our client, a global leading manufacturing organisation. This is a full time temporary position covering maternity leave for a 9-month assignment, based in Barry.
As an Environmental Health and Safety Technician, you will play a vital role in the implementation of the EH&S management system to meet business objectives and maintain the licence to operate. You will be responsible for hands-on environmental, industrial hygiene, and health and safety activities for a specific plant.
Responsibilities:
- Implement detailed, task-level EH&S programmes.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, industrial hygiene (IH), and health and safety (H&S) standards and procedures.
- Act as the go-to resource for EH&S information, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
- Serve as the plant contact for EH&S issues.
- Coach and support teams and individuals on EH&S tasks and activities.
- Assist in developing and achieving EH&S goals for the plant.
- Coordinate environmental, IH, and H&S monitoring, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Support EH&S aspects of plant turnarounds.
Requirements:
- Related field experience in manufacturing and/or chemical environment in EH&S, operations, maintenance, or related experience preferred.
- Professional EHS CPD such as IOSH or NEBOSH would be beneficial.
- Pre-employment medical and DBS criminal record check will be required.
