**The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Operations team as an Asset Manager. The role will be reporting to the Operations General Manager and will act as a Goal Zero model, setting standards and aspirations to Ensure Safe Production (ESP) and maintenance execution whilst delivering the production plan. The role will be accountable for the Production Unit’s process areas, with overall responsibility for production, cost, reliability, integrity and HSE.
Work with the Operations Delivery Manager to lead and coach the Asset team. Develop the operations employees to ensure they have and maintain the necessary skills and competencies for their roles.
The role involves leading and taking responsibility for various cross-site initiatives, efficiency improvement processes, site processes, and management areas. This will be done in collaboration with other departments to achieve optimal operational and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) performance for the refinery.
Working with the Economics Planning & Scheduling Team, you will be responsible for input into the annual and monthly planning process, ‘Deliver the Plan’. You will also be required to identify learning’s in the event if there are any deviations from plan. The role will be responsible for ensuring that all assets meet the long and short-term production plan safely and effectively.
You will oversee the effective operation and achievement of optimal yield, energy usage, and process material consumption with minimal downgrading or loss. Operations, maintenance, and variable costs must remain within budget. Address cost challenges and drive maintenance improvements, promoting cost leadership excellence while maintaining high and robust availability.
The role involves guaranteeing safe production by continuously implementing, sustaining, and improving work processes and organizational interfaces. Additionally, it includes overseeing routine operations and maintenance activities within the Production Unit.
You will also contribute to the site Operations Leadership Team to achieve the overall site objectives in all aspects of the business.
**About You
Our ideal candidate will hold degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical degree, or have extensive Operations experience in refining or chemicals which would include substantial exposure to work process management. You should be able to demonstrate your experience of leadership, team working and your delivery against testing objectives. You will be a leader with an open and honest style, be motivated to challenge, have respect for individuals’ views, recognise performance matters and be willing to learn.
You should possess the ability to lead emergency response and are expected to be a member of one of the site duty teams. Additionally, you should exhibit personal characteristics that foster an environment of continuous improvement, learning, and professional development.
