Due to continued expansion, our client is seeking an experienced Formulation/Development Chemist to join their Product Development Department.

This role will involve the development and improvement of existing products, as well as the formulation of new products from initial concept through to final production. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of regulatory requirements such as REACH, COSHH, CLP, and BPR.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formulation and development of household and cleaning products.
• Development of both new and existing products in the laboratory, ensuring all products are appropriately tested.
• Scaling up formulations from laboratory to production scale.
• Supervising and supporting junior technicians in development work and testing.
• Providing technical support to the Quality Department.
• Assisting the Technical Manager in maintaining quality standards for raw materials, batch mixes, and finished products.

Requirements:

• BSc or higher in Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Several years of hands-on experience in the formulation and development of cleaning and household products.
• Strong knowledge of chemical regulations (REACH, COSHH, CLP, BPR).
• Proven ability to scale up laboratory formulations to full production.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrates initiative, attention to detail, and a commitment to continual improvement.
• Respectful, articulate, and collaborative in a team environment.
