Analytical Chemist, GCMS, COR7530A
A leading Life Sciences company based on the Oxford Science Park, requires an Analytical Chemist, ideally with GCMS experience, to carry out a variety of lab-based tasks. Offered initially as a 6-month fixed term contract, the Analytical Chemist will be required to work 5 days per week onsite in the laboratory.
The Role
Working within a state of the art facility as part of a friendly team, the Analytical Chemist will:
- Conduct analytical testing to support product development, with an emphasis on GCMS.
- Prepare and analyse samples using a range of analytical and wet chemistry techniques.
- Support method development, optimisation, and validation.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain GCMS and related laboratory equipment.
- Support general hydrogel synthesis
- Support and train technical staff in laboratory and analytical procedures.
This Analytical Chemist role has a strong focus on analytical chemistry, particularly GCMS, alongside routine laboratory work, so would be ideal for a candidate with solid analytical chemistry and lab experience, who is looking for a varied position combining hands-on analysis and broader laboratory support.

What’s required from the Analytical Chemist?
- A candidate with solid analytical chemistry experience (BSc with lab experience, or a postgraduate qualification)
- Laboratory experience in analytical chemistry – ideally including GCMS
- Experience with sample preparation and analysis
- Experience operating, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment
