Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Production Operative on behalf of our client based in Bishop's Stortford.

Working within the Production Department, the successful candidate will carry out a range of assembly and operational processes, including the manufacture of engineering spares and accessories, media blasting, bonding and curing of tanks, and kit replenishment to production assembly lines.

Roles & Responsibilities

Assemble machine accessories including baskets, hose connectors and trollies.

Produce sub-assemblies and spare parts for engineer orders, including electrical and mechanical products.

Prepare and media blast a variety of tanks under controlled conditions.

Clean and prepare tanks, apply transducers and prepare products for oven curing.

Dismantle jigs and dispatch completed products to assembly lines.

Maintain machines and ensure the blasting and bonding areas are kept clean, safe and organised.

Manufacture finished goods and sub-assemblies for production lines.

Assist with stock management, kit replenishment and production line support when required.

Read drawings and follow work instructions accurately to ensure products are manufactured to the required quality standards.

Experience, education & qualifications

Previous experience within a relevant production, manufacturing or assembly environment is preferred; alternatively, candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of and enthusiasm for the role.

Ability to read technical drawings and follow work instructions to a high standard.

Understanding of time management, logistics and process control, with the ability to work towards or exceed production targets.

Ability to maintain accurate records and consistently follow quality and regulatory processes.

Previous grit blasting, media blasting, powder coating or similar finishing experience would be advantageous.

Knowledge of hand tools and experience using them within electrical and mechanical production.

Strong communication skills, a self-motivated and positive approach, and the ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple tasks.

Working environment: Manufacturing / Operations Centre

Physical requirements: The role involves regular standing, walking, bending and manual handling, with continuous hand manipulation and visual attention.
