Job Title: Assistant Production Supervisor
Location: Cheshire (WA8)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE)
Hours: Monday - Friday 08:00-16:00 / 09:00-17:00hrs
Contract: Permanent

The Company/Role
Being a highly successful leading manufacturer of high-performance process chemicals, our client is looking to appoint a hands-on, motivated Assistant Production Supervisor to join their expanding team.
Reporting to the Production Manager, the Assistant Production Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our production plant. You will also act as a stand-in Production Manager when required, ensuring operational continuity and compliance with company policies and safety standards.
As the Assistant Production Supervisor, your key responsibilities would be:
- Monitor production equipment to ensure continuous and efficient manufacturing of chemical products.
- Identify and respond promptly to production and mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Assist with troubleshooting and rectifying mechanical and liaise with external contractors for maintenance, repair, and project work.
- Supervise contractor activities on site to ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements.
- Manage and issue Permits to Work (PTW) for maintenance, contractor activities, and other non-routine tasks.
- Monitor and maintain raw materials, finished goods, and consumable inventories.
- Work closely with the logistics and procurement teams to ensure material availability.
- Function as stand-in Production Supervisor during absences, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization efforts.
The Assistant Production Supervisor will have the following skills & experience;
- Must have solid experience of working within a Chemical or Process Manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience working within a Team Leader or Supervisory position is required.
- Strong understanding of Permits to Work, safety systems, and contractor management.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience handling equipment breakdowns or maintenance coordination.
- Previous experience working on any project work would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset with hands-on technical ability.
