This is an excellent opportunity to work at a global oil and gas exploration and production company in a varied and interesting role, with fantastic development opportunities.
Qualification Requirements
Currently studying a degree in Chemical Engineering
Please note this position is for students seeking a placement to form part of their undergraduate degree. If you will have graduated in 2026 we are unable to consider you.

Teesside Operations
The ConocoPhillips Norsea Terminal, located in Teesside at the mouth of the river Tees, is a crude oil reception, processing, storage, and trans-shipment installation. The terminal also fractionates natural gas liquids into ethane, propane, and butane.
The terminal’s success is built on its high performing workforce and can provide opportunities throughout your career to progress and continually develop. With ongoing production from Ekofisk and Eldfisk, other redeveloped fields and new exploration projects in the works, the future looks bright as we prepare for a lifetime to 2050.
Primary Role / responsibilities
Develop and implement Process Safety / Operating Integrity initiatives within the operating group

Monitoring and evaluating unit performance
-
Troubleshooting operating problems
-
Generating ideas and seeking out opportunities for unit optimisation
-
Producing process designs for projects using safety and environmental best practices
-
Providing engineering and economic evaluation in the screening of potential projects
-
Participating in project teams in the design and construction of projects
Business Expectations
Comply with UK Legislative, Regulatory and Company Safety Requirements

Takes accountability to remain compliant in the role by completing any required training in a timely manner

Act at all times with highest standards and collaborate effectively within the Process Engineering team.
