Location: Witham, Essex
Hours: Rotating shifts (06:00-13:00 / 13:00-20:00 weekly rotation)
Salary: Up to £33,000 (including shift allowance, depending on experience)

We're working with a growing scientific company in the Witham area who are looking for a Chemist to join their friendly and supportive lab team.

Please note

Due to the shift pattern, you'll need to drive and have access to a vehicle, or live locally in Witham (within around 10 miles). Public transport will not be suitable for this role.

What you'll be doing

• Getting hands-on in the lab with real analytical testing
• Learning how to prepare, analyse, and record samples accurately
• Working to industry standards (ISO 17025) and following clear procedures
• Building your understanding of lab techniques and scientific methods
• Working safely and learning how to apply COSHH and H&S guidelines
• Supporting the team to keep the lab running smoothly and efficiently

What we're looking for

• A-Level or Degree in Chemistry (or a related science)
• Someone curious, motivated, and keen to learn
• Good attention to detail (you like getting things right)
• Comfortable working both independently and in a team
• Good communication skills
• Organised, reliable, and able to follow processes
• Basic IT skills
