A little more about your role…
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Digital Technician to join our team.
Working on a variety of interesting projects encompassing Healthcare, Renewable Energy, Energy, Heritage, Commercial, Industrial and the hospitality buildings sectors.
This is a great opportunity for a keen individual to join a supportive and friendly team to help deliver our digital design and BIM models and to help develop our software capabilities within the UK Structures Business.
Working with an already established team of engineers, technicians, and software developers you will
Produce and supervise coordinated 3D BIM models using Revit; preparing engineering models & drawings from sketches and design information
Work closely with key external stakeholders, clients and colleagues from all parts of the WSP business?to achieve multidisciplinary delivery outcomes
Use BIM technologies?both in cloud and managed systems to prepare concise engineering drawings for key stages such as conception, planning, tender, building warrant and construction
Work in a supporting role with our inhouse software engineers to develop tools and apps that support our business’ engineering function.
Produce tools and work?ows that allow us to deliver Security Clearance projects more ef?ciently. These tools will have to sit outside of our business as usual networks.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
Gained a HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Structural Engineering or Computer Sciences Some experience of Building Structures as a Technician
Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Of?ce
Knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, C#, C++ etc
Knowledge of Rhino3D, grasshopper and dynamo not essential but would be considered favourably
Appreciation of the principles of ISO 19650, BIM templates, BEPs, and use of collaborative information management software
Knowledge of the principals of working with digital CDE platforms, such as ACC and its collaborative modules (Not essential, training will be provided)
Practical experience of software development, data extraction, management and analysis
Ability to provide insights on new technology, modern ways of working and innovation
Pro?ciency at planning and organising own workload
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Excellent presentation skills
Familiarity with working under pressure and to tight deadlines
Good teamwork skills and a willingness to learn
Successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment.
