CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN

Full time, permanent role 
Starting salary £54,000 plus benefits 

Dragon LNG has a great opportunity for an experienced Control and Instrumentation Technician to join our fantastic Maintenance team. The Control and Instrumentation Technician will play a key role in maintaining and optimising our terminal control and instrumentation systems to ensure reliability and availability, in compliance with policies, legislation and codes of practice.   

The role responsibilities will include: 

  • Ensuring that safe practices, company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.  
  • Completing scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance activities. 
    Ensuring adherence to the weekly work schedules and recording all maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring that the terminals Integrated Control System (ICS) are functioning effectively.
  • Performing scheduled validation tests and calibration runs on the custody transfer metering stations and associated gas quality instrumentation
  • Carrying out defined inspection and maintenance strategies.
  • Adhering to the company’s Management of Change process for all plant modifications.
  • All other tasks as required and detailed in the job description.

The successful candidate will ideally have:  

  • A recognised apprenticeship or training in Control and Instrumentation.
  • HNC or equivalent vocational qualification in Control and Instrumentation. 
  • Relevant Control and Instrumentation experience in the LNG, oil and gas or process energy industry.
  • Experience in process control and safety related systems for hazardous areas.  
  • An understanding of the IEC 61511 Functional Safety standards. 
  • Familiarisation with all relevant codes of practice and standards relating to the ATEX (DSEAR) regulations.
  • Experience in the selection and installation of Parker or Swagelok compression fittings and instrument tubing systems for process control, instrumentation and analytical applications.  
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player and result oriented in terms of achieving maximum maintenance performance.
