My client is a precision engineering business, working very closely with the aerospace and energy markets. The Facilities Technician will perform a variety of building maintenance, grounds maintenance and execute the delivery of a wide range of projects to the business needs. As a facilities technician you will be proactive, reactive and ensure preventative facilities maintenance for the upkeep of the site infrastructure including welfare provisions and grounds.

Job Description
- Maintaining all grounds of TST site 1 & TST site 2 this includes the rear yards for deliveries and waste disposal. (Skips, footpaths, roads, drainage. Etc)
- Organisation of various waste and recycling skips, ensuring correct usage.
- Liaising with waste/recycling companies and organising collections.
- Overseeing the delivery & correct transfer of chemical products to & from both sites.
- Using the company vehicle to make deliveries and collections if required.
- Maintaining outside storage areas, i.e. containers, waste transfer station.
- Carrying out daily, weekly, monthly mandatory checks and ensuring correct reporting through the CMMS (inclusive but not limited to the following, gas meter readings, water meter readings, fire extinguisher checks, lighting checks, etc)
- Liaise with contractors (when required), ensuring the completion of PTW
- Assist contractors when appropriate with construction and renovation assistance ensuring they work to TST HSE requirements.
- Assist contractors with buildings and grounds support services
- Organise & Deploy winter services, outside any contractual agreements.
- Maintain TSTL facilities (including “comfort/welfare facilities”) and infrastructure to a high standard
- Inspects building & other structures to determine functional systems & detect malfunctions & needed repair making notes & recommendations using CMMS
- Performs electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures and fitting, electrical testing & thermal imaging surveys.
- Performs plumbing maintenance & installations
- Performs painting, carpentry & masonry work.
- Reconfigures, installs, positions and rebuild modular office furniture to accommodate user needs and maximise office space.
- Reasonable out of hours support for emergencies and can demonstrate flexible working.
- Support of factory shutdown activities.
- All tasks to be carried out in a timely manner to contribute to service improvement.
- Understand and conform to all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Understand and work to TSTL guidelines and observe all TSTL policies.
- Generate work documents that conforms to accepted standards and maintain audit trail.
- Demonstrates a proactive approach for facility care and upkeep.
- Required to procure materials or services and can demonstrate initiative in lone project work and producing and working to project plans. Able to take full responsibility for small projects and deliver on time with ‘can do’ approach.
- To actively contribute to raising standards and undertake training as required.
- To participate fully in engaging with workforce and management
- Perform maintenance on the make-up Compressed air system.
- Perform maintenance on external and internal process water cooling systems
- Perform maintenance on the Effluent treatment plant
- Carry out environmental checks on the Storm Pond
- Overseeing the integrity of the Gas farm, ensuring all defects are reported and any incidents isolated pending supplier support.
- Perform critical maintenance of both site Chemical showers
- Communication with SEM to ensure site HV systems remain compliant and current legislation enforced.
- Control of site PAT testing
- Maintaining of the Fire alarm system inclusive but not limited to sprinkler system, fire panel, pump house, contractor support, etc.
- Support all A/C reported breakdown &evaluate if contractor service & repair is required.
- Any other duties that may be required by the Company
