Full Job Description
An opportunity has arisen for a Materials Analysis Technician to join a leading engineering organisation on a 3-month temporary contract. This hands-on role will support R&D and production projects, focusing on microscopic analysis and metallurgical investigation of precision components.
You'll work within a busy R&D lab, carrying out materials testing and analysis to support product development and quality improvement. Ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and proven lab-based inspection experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform microscopic and metallurgical analysis of samples and components
- Prepare specimens and technical reports to support R&D and production teams
- Support materials validation, damage investigation, and quality checks
- Assist in prototype coating trials and sample preparation activities
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a materials or metallurgical analysis laboratory
- Strong skills in microscopic inspection and sample preparation
- Knowledge of analytical and measuring equipment (e.g. metrology tools, microscopes)
- Organised, methodical, and able to follow laboratory procedures precisely
This is a 3-month contract role which will be working 5 days a week onsite working within a high performance engineering environment.
