NDT Technician (Ultrasonic)
Salary: £35,000-£41,000 DOE
Hours: 37 hours per week -
Day Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm (Mon-Thu) & 7:00am-3:00pm (Fri)
Location: Sheffield
A long-established engineering manufacturer in Sheffield is looking to strengthen its Quality & Inspection team with an experienced NDT Technician. This is a days-only role with stable hours, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to work on high-integrity components for safety-critical applications.

About the Job:
Working as part of the inspection function, you will carry out Ultrasonic Testing and wider NDT activities on a range of engineered products.
You will ensure components meet required standards, generate inspection documentation, and support continuous quality improvements.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Performing hands-on Ultrasonic inspection
- Completing visual and dimensional checks
- Producing inspection certificates and technique sheets
- Identifying and reporting non-conformances
- Marking and preparing parts for despatch as required
- Carrying out PMI (Positive Material Identification)
- Maintaining accurate and compliant inspection records
This role suits someone with experience in industries such as aerospace, defence, nuclear, power generation, or other high-specification manufacturing sectors.
About you: (Essential requirements)
- NAS 410 / EN 4179 Level 2 Ultrasonic Qualification
What would make you stand out? (Desirable)
- PCN (EN 9712) Level 2 UT (Forgings & Wrought Products)
- Experience in Immersion Ultrasonic Testing
- Forklift or overhead crane experience
- Documented NAS 410 / EN 4179 OJT hours
