About Us
Petroineos is Scotland’s biggest and newest fuel import and distribution Terminal. Ideally located in Grangemouth, the Terminal Road Station hosts approx. 500 vehicle movements daily supported by a Tank Farm and Jetties, providing shipping and storage support to the 24/7 operation.
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our newly established Terminal team at Grangemouth on a permanent basis.
About the Role
The Quantity Surveyor will provide cost assurance on all contractor spend across all Terminal term contracts and projects to ensure governance in accordance with the terms of agreed contracts. In addition, will manage monthly service receipting and supplier payments to ensure these are paid in accordance with entitlement as set within contractual terms.
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that the commercial management of contracts and contractors (term and non-term) is carried out fairly and to the highest ethical standards whilst at all times protecting the Business commercial/contractual position and enhancing its reputation
- Manage the relationship with each contractor to ensure timely resolution of any variation to maintain good commercial relationships
- Interrogate and analyse complex monthly spend data to ensure good value is achieved for each contract
- Produce monthly contractor cost reports
- Control/approve interim payments to contractors within delegation of authority (DOA) approval levels
- Analyse spend data to make recommendations regarding contractual disputes, interfacing with procurement on claims and contentious variations to ensure contractual compliance or entitlement
- Interrogate spend data to track Terminal-wide spend by contractor to procurement
- Lead audits of works done to ensure the business is only paying for work done and to the terms of the contract
- Manage contract variations in line with contractual entitlement ensuring they are clearly documented and understood by both parties and communicated to appropriate team

We also require candidates to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Contract knowledge, and compliance with regard to entitlement, notices and valuation.
- Experienced Graduate Quantity Surveyor (similar qualification may be considered)
- Previous experience in using systems such as SAP, Maximo and Maximo Business Objects
- Strong Excel experience with the ability to prepare and present detailed spend reports and complex data
- Strong Commercial Awareness
- Negotiation Skills
- Risk Management
- Experience of working with a variety of contract styles and arrangements
- Contract administration experience with a proven track record of administering complex and high value contracts

The salary for this role is up to circa £60k dependent on experience level. In addition, we also offer:
