The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Process Operative / FLT Driver to join a busy and fast-paced manufacturing operation. This position offers a varied role involving material handling, stock movement, metal processing, and dispatch activities within a safety-focused environment.

The successful candidate will have previous warehouse experience, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
  • Safe operation of overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Completing all operational paperwork and pre-use inspections accurately.
  • Processing materials to customer specifications.
  • Packing and preparing finished metal products for dispatch.
  • Following written procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintaining high housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily operational targets.

About You

Essential

  • Previous experience within a warehouse, metals/manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Valid Counterbalance FLT licence.
  • Experience loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Desirable

  • Experience operating overhead cranes and using lifting slings.
  • Previous experience handling metals, industrial products, or chemicals.
  • Knowledge of stock control and warehouse management processes.
  • Understanding of 5S and continuous improvement principles.

  • Week 1 - Mon to Thursday - Friday and Saturday and Sunday off - days only 
  • Week 2 - Tues to Friday - early finish on a Friday at 2:30pm and Sat and Sunday Off - days only
