Chemistry Process Operator

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Production Operator to join a growing chemical manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role within a specialist production environment, where you will play a key part in the manufacture, processing, quality control, and packaging of products while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
The successful candidate will work as part of a small, collaborative team and contribute to a culture focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and delivering quality products right first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate production equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Support the manufacture, drying, processing, and packaging of products.
- Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Monitor production activities and ensure work is completed in line with production schedules and deadlines.
- Take production samples for quality testing as required.
- Accurately complete production and operational documentation.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to resolve operational issues and improve efficiency.
- Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
- Support quality, customer, and regulatory audits when required.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grade C/Level 4 or above) or equivalent, or 1-2 years' experience within a chemical manufacturing or chemical production environment.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of safe working practices within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work safely around potentially hazardous materials and equipment.
Desirable
- Chemistry-related qualification, degree, or further education.
- Previous experience within chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, fine chemicals, or a similar regulated industry.
- 3-5 years' industrial manufacturing experience.

Physical Requirement
- Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and manual handling activities.
- Lifting and moving materials, including loads of up to 25kg with assistance where required.
- Working with production equipment, machinery, and tools.
- Exposure to manufacturing environments, chemicals, and varying noise levels.
Working Hours
- Full-time, site-based position.
- Shift work will be required.
- Flexibility to work additional hours on occasion to support operational requirements.
