About the Role

We’re looking for Production Operatives to join our Stoney Stanton site. This is a hands-on, manual role working as part of a production team to safely meet daily cylinder production targets.

You’ll rotate across different tasks, including:

  • Loading and unloading cylinders
  • Filling operations
  • Supervised cylinder refurbishment

The role involves working both indoors and outdoors on a rotated pattern. While you won’t be outside all the time, you should be comfortable working outdoors.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with manual handling or physical work
  • Experience in hazardous or heavy industrial environments is an advantage but not essential
  • Comfortable working with chemicals (full training provided)
  • Willing to work safely and follow site procedures
  • A team player with a good attitude and clear communication skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Work safely at all times and contribute to an incident-free workplace
  • Report hazards, near misses, and incidents
  • Meet production targets set by the Shift Lead or Supervisor
  • Safely operate machinery and rotate across tasks as required
  • Follow all work instructions, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
  • Support new starters and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Operate site FLTs (subject to licence) to move and load cylinders safely

Training & Development

  • Full on-site training provided – no previous chemical experience required
  • FLT (Fork Lift Truck) licence desirable, but Calor will support you in obtaining your FLT licence through our training agreement package
  • After 6 months, you’ll have the opportunity to apply to become a Cylinder Inspector, which offers an additional hourly allowance when operating that shift
  • Clear progression opportunities to develop your skills and career

Your Safety Comes First

Your safety is our top priority. We operate a safety-before-production culture, meaning you will never be expected to put output ahead of your own safety or the safety of others. You’ll be working in a well-controlled environment, with clear procedures, full training, and the right support to make sure you go home safe every day.

What We Offer

  • Full Calor PPE provided, including fleeces, coats, warm hats and weather gear
  • On-site parking
  • On-site canteen (open until 1:30pm)
  • Vending machines available throughout the day
  • Wellness facilities, including shower rooms and secure lockers
  • Tea and coffee available in the mess room
  • A friendly team-based working environment
  • 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Matched pension contributions 4.5% rising to 7.5% after 2 years’ service
  • Life Assurance (4x salary)
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Access to retail discounts and wellbeing support
