Dual Role: Production Operative and Driver
Main Responsibilities:
Must be able to work in both High and Low Risk Production areas
Multi Drop Driver when required
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and a medical certificate confirming fitness to work in a food environment are required
- Key Duties include:
- Packing products
- Assembling orders
- Sorting products
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Maintaining a clean workspace, including rubbish removal
- Labelling products
Training will be Provided for:
- Label generation equipment
- Filling out process control sheets and documentation
- Checking metal detectors
- Safe use of knives
- Operating Hand and Auto Slicers
- Weighing and bagging products
- Cleaning procedures, including chemical handling and dilution (aware of COSHH requirements)
- Operating Urschel and Trieff dicers
- Using nitrogen tunnel
- Operating fork, reach, and pallet trucks
- Using multivac, vacuum, and gas flushed packing machinery
- Operating Dicing Room Tumbler
Driver Responsibilities:
Company Vehicle Policy:
Only authorised drivers may use company vehicles. Unauthorised passengers are not allowed.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Company Representation: Drivers represent the company during deliveries and collections and must maintain a professional appearance and behaviour.
- Dress Code: Clean attire is required, as drivers may have direct customer contact. High visibility jackets and safety footwear are mandatory for certain customers and are provided by the company.
- Driving Conduct: Drive safely, courteously, and within the law. Be aware of legal requirements, including smoking and tachograph laws. The company is not responsible for any legal infractions (e.g., parking or speeding fines). Losing your license may affect your employment, though alternative roles may be considered.
- Loading and Paperwork: Drivers are responsible for loading their vehicles and ensuring all paperwork matches the load. Missing products may result in the company seeking compensation.
- Temperature Checks: Conduct and record temperature checks at each delivery/collection. Return all delivery paperwork and temperature control sheets to the office and Technical Manager daily. Check temperature probes weekly with the Technical Manager for accuracy.
- Tachographs: Return tachographs to the relevant Director as required.
Communication:
- Drivers receive a telephone allowance for mobile calls related to deliveries and collections. Regular communication with the company is required. If you do not have a hands-free device, pull over safely before using your phone, as it is illegal to use a handheld device while driving.
Additional Responsibilities:
- When not driving, drivers should be able to perform the duties of a Production Operator (QM034) or as many aspects of the role as possible.
