Lead Production Technician
Location: Yarnton, Oxford
Salary: £35,000 per annum

The Lead Production Technician reports directly to the Production Manager. The person in this role leads the production build process by performing assembly, testing, kitting, and diagnosing mechanical faults in electro-mechanical products, while coordinating the build crew and managing manufacturing order progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising a team of Electro-Mechanical Assemblers, assigning and delegating tasks, and ensuring the team meets its goals.
- Liaising with the Planner to convert build plans to Manufacturing Orders.
- Actively participating in the following disciplines, balancing hands-on work with supervisory duties to ensure deadlines are met:
- Assemble electro-mechanical assemblies with reference to assembly drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of materials.
- Programming, set-up, and testing of built units (including any necessary optical alignment of cameras).
- Diagnosing mechanical faults in camera sub-assemblies to component level and managing the repair/replacement.
- Kitting/Supervising the kitting of Manufacturing Orders to the shop floor (including transacting stock via NetSuite).
- Liaising with test engineers regarding the progression of Manufacturing Orders through to completion.
- Assisting the Stock Controller (including assisting with stock take and stock organization/location).
- Liaising with the Production Manager/Planner and test engineers regarding RMAs and the progression of RMA returns through repair or to stock.
- In conjunction with Engineering, Design Engineer, Realisation Engineer, and Production Manager:
- Assist with the ongoing improvement of current products by actively feeding back observations from the current build.
- Assist in the risk prevention/design improvement process by actively feeding back observations from the prototype/current build.
- Participate in training activities for flexible working.
- Work to a high standard of quality.
- Work in a safe manner for themselves and others.
- Use correct documentation.
- Participate in Quality Control, Waste Minimisation, or other improvement activities.
- Must be able to work without supervision and meet deadlines.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
- Experience in leading teams of people.
- Experience in the use of ERP Systems (e.g., NetSuite).
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
- Enthusiastic and committed to the goals of the company.
- Meticulous with a good eye for detail.
- Organized and tidy.
- Exhibit good written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
