Location: Runcorn, Cheshire, WA7 3DL.
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000.
Contract: Full time, Monday to Friday 08:30 to 16:50.

Quality Assurance Assistant Role

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Assistant to join our team within the quality department. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the overall operational performance by ensuring that all products meet the highest quality and regulatory standards. As part of this role, you will collaborate closely with various internal teams, including development, sales, and production, to identify and resolve non-conformances, improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Quality Assurance Assistant Responsibilities

As a Quality Assurance Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating quality measurements to track product improvements
  • Executing quality improvement testing and related activities
  • Managing quality projects to enhance processes and operational efficiency
  • Maintaining quality assurance standards and processes across the company
  • Developing and reviewing work instructions and quality documentation
  • Generating and reviewing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Conducting internal audits to ensure adherence to established standards
  • Assisting with supplier audits to assess and improve vendor performance
  • Carrying out external audits as required by clients or regulatory bodies
  • Performing first-piece, line, and shop floor inspections
  • Conducting spot check inspections for real-time assurance on the shop floor
  • Assisting the development team to improve existing products and processes
  • Identifying, documenting, and performing root cause analysis on non-conformances
  • Approving product specifications to ensure they meet quality requirements

Quality Assurance Assistant Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and/or experience:

  • A degree in a relevant scientific field or the equivalent experience
  • Two to five years’ experience in a quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment, with experience in ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 being highly preferred

Quality Assurance Assistant Skills and Competencies

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and competencies:

  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and processes
  • Experience in conducting audits and working with regulatory bodies
  • Familiarity with product specifications and process improvement activities
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high quality standards
  • Ability to work independently, managing your own workload to meet deadlines
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to changing requirements
  • A strong focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
