Full Job Description

The main function of this role is to work within a safety critical super alloy manufacturing alloy storage facility. The core duties of the role require a high level of accuracy and concentration to ensure the correct management of Raw Material stocks. As a supplier to Primary melting the Raw Materials team aim to provide the customer with accurately weighed “charges” that meet internal and external Quality standards in a timely manner. Health, Safety and Quality is at the forefront of everything we do, and it starts with the Raw Materials team setting the standard at the beginning of the process. Other duties will require you to expand your skills and knowledge base within the Raw Materials team, make active contributions to maintaining and improving workplace standards in line with OEM expectations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Following QA procedures and generating/maintaining prime records.

• Receiving inward goods against delivery documentation.

• Accurately identifying and orderly storing of charge materials.

• Accurately weighing and re-identification of furnace charges.

• Assist the Raw Materials Management team in material usage management.

• Participation in self audit and improvement activities to ensure the Alloy Stores remains a world class raw materials storage facility.

• Assisting in the recovery of VIM ready materials from established revert streams.

• Understanding the implications of quality hazards, thus maintaining a high standard of cleanliness/orderliness in accordance with plant standards.

• Co-ordinating and managing external raw material and internal revert deliveries.

• Use of Overhead crane, FLT and Side loader.

Minimum Requirements

• High degree of accuracy and standards of housekeeping in accordance with plant standards.

• A willingness to learn additional duties within the Raw Materials team.

• Good level of numeracy and literacy.

• Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods.

• Understanding of good Health, Safety and Quality procedures.

• Be able to demonstrate communication and organisational skills.

• Proactive attitude.

• Process driven.

Other Requirements

The following are preferred but not essential as training will be provided:

• Basic Knowledge of elemental and chemical symbols.

• Computer literate.

• Experience of working within a ‘Stores’ environment particularly within metals manufacture.

• Remote/pendant crane licence holder to CITB/AITT or equivalent.

• Counterbalance fork truck licence holder to CITB/AITT or equivalent.

• Side loader.
