Full Job Description
My client is a leading Resin and Polymers manufacturer based in Wigan that supply products to a range of industries globally. They are looking to hire an R&D Technician to join their established team in Standish, Wigan. The ideal candidate will have a background in Laboratory Research and Development, will be familiar with ISO Quality management systems, will be proficient in Chemical process and will be based within a commutable distance of Standish, Wigan.
R&D Technician Position Overview
- Undertaking experimental work in accordance with the R&D manual
- Recording all process information to allow review and generation of process instructions
- Preparing laboratory samples and testing and evaluation of Raw materials & Competitor products
- Calibration of lab equipment
- Supporting QA issues in relation to reworks, complaints, incidents and rejects
- Providing support for production and QC departments
- Preparing samples for dispatch
R&D Technician Position Requirements
- Able to follow Chemistry testing techniques
- BTEC / HNC in Chemistry or equivalent level 4 qualification in Chemistry
- Experience working in a busy laboratory environment
- Good I.T skills across both Microsoft office and ERP Systems
- Strong understanding of Chemical processes
- Experience working in a Chemical process / COMAH environment desirable
- A familiarity with ISO9001, 14001 & 45001 desirable
- Either IOSH, First Aid, or Internal Auditor trained also desirable
- Based within commutable distance of Wigan
R&D Technician Position Remuneration
- £12.60 per hour
- Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (42.5 hours a week)
- 33 Days holiday inclusive of public holidays
