Job Title: Part-Time Science Technician

Location: Upminster, Essex

Hours: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. 8:30 - 3:30.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of Practical Lessons: Prepare materials, equipment, and solutions for practical demonstrations and student experiments across all science subjects (KS3-KS5).

• Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain, organise, and clean laboratories, prep rooms, and equipment, ensuring a safe and orderly learning environment.

• Stock Management: Manage and monitor stock levels of consumables, chemicals, and equipment, and assist with placing orders.

• Safety Compliance: Ensure all health and safety guidelines (CLEAPSS) are strictly followed, including the safe disposal of waste materials.

• In-Class Support: Assist teaching staff and students during practical sessions, offering technical help and ensuring safe working practices.

Candidate Requirements

• Technical Knowledge: A strong background or qualification in Science (A-Level or degree-level) is highly desirable.

• Experience: Previous experience working as a School Science Technician is a significant advantage, but candidates with relevant laboratory or technical experience may be considered.

• Availability: Must be available to work the three specified days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and be able to start immediately.

• Compliance: Successful candidates must have an Enhanced DBS check (full support provided by Randstad Education).
