Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Science Technician to work full-time in a secondary school in the Haslingden area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual with strong science knowledge and relevant qualifications to support the delivery of high-quality science education. The role is to start ASAP and is ongoing.

The successful candidate will:

• Have strong subject knowledge in Science (KS3 and KS4)
• Be confident in supporting and preparing resources for practical lessons
• Demonstrate good classroom management and a clear passion for teaching and learning
• Be proactive, well organised, and a strong team player
• Have experience working in a laboratory, scientific, healthcare, or technical environment
• Hold relevant qualifications related to science or education
• Be fully committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing

What you will do:

• Prepare, maintain, and set up laboratories for practical science sessions
• Ensure laboratories are safe, compliant, and well-organised
• Support teaching staff and students during practical experiments
• Manage chemicals, equipment, and stock levels in line with health and safety requirements
• Maintain specialist scientific equipment and ensure accurate record-keeping
