Randstad Education are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Science Technician for a Secondary School based in Conwy County. You will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality science curriculum by providing technical support to teaching staff and students.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Science Technician to join our vibrant Science Department. You will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality science curriculum by providing technical support to teaching staff and students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

From preparing chemicals and equipment to ensuring a safe laboratory environment, your work will be at the heart of our students' practical learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Practical Support: Prepare, set up, and dismantle apparatus and resources for classroom demonstrations and student practical work.

  • Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment in line with CLEAPSS and COSHH regulations. Dispose of hazardous materials safely and perform routine safety checks on equipment.

  • Stock Management: Monitor and manage stock levels of chemicals and equipment; assist in ordering new supplies and maintaining an accurate inventory.

  • Maintenance: Carry out minor repairs and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure everything is in good working order.

Requirements

  • Degree in a Science-based subject
  • Enhanced Child DBS check
  • EWC registration
