Full Job Description

Brighton College is seeking to appoint a UKVI Compliance and Admissions Assistant on a permanent basis.

Reporting to: Deputy Head (Admissions)

Main purpose of the role: The UKVI Compliance and Admissions Assistant will support the UKVI Compliance Officer in ensuring that Brighton College maintains full compliance with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) sponsorship regulations.

This role has been created to strengthen operational capacity and oversight in response to increasing regulatory requirements, including the UKVI Agent Quality Framework (AQF). The postholder will provide essential administrative, quality assurance, and stakeholder support across the international pupil lifecycle, acting as an additional layer of scrutiny to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance in all UKVI-related processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with the UKVI Compliance Officer to support sponsor licence duties while also liaising with admissions, agents, families, and internal staff to ensure a smooth and compliant experience for all international pupils.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Compliance Support, Quality Assurance and Record Keeping

  • Support the UKVI Compliance Officer in fulfilling all sponsor duties across the Child Student and Student routes.
  • Act as a secondary reviewer (“second pair of eyes”) for compliance documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness and audit readiness, including carrying out regular internal audits of pupil files and compliance records for record keeping purposes and to support preparation for UKVI audits and inspections (as needed).
  • Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date records across the Sponsorship Management System (SMS), internal databases, and pupil files in line with UKVI and data protection requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring key compliance indicators such as enrolment, attendance, and documentation completeness.

CAS and Admissions Compliance Checks

  • Support the preparation and checking of Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) documentation prior to issue.
  • Verify supporting documentation (e.g. passports, visas, financial evidence where relevant, parental consent) to ensure compliance with UKVI requirements.
  • Work closely with the admissions team to ensure all offers, enrolments, and documentation meet compliance standards before CAS assignment.

Student and Family Engagement

  • Act as a point of contact for families and pupils on UKVI-related processes, providing clear, accurate, and timely guidance on CAS, visas, and compliance processes.
  • Ensure communication with families reflects the College’s safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to compliance.

Agent Quality Framework (AQF) Support

  • Support the implementation and ongoing compliance with the UKVI Agent Quality Framework.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of all education agents, including due diligence, contracts, and performance monitoring.
  • Help track agent activity, documentation, and outcomes to support quality assurance and annual reviews.
  • Liaise with agents to ensure required documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in line with College and UKVI expectations.
  • Support the UKVI Compliance Officer in monitoring agent performance and identifying any risks or concerns.

Admissions Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the smooth running of visits and events at the College.
  • Managing and processing enquiries and registration of prospective pupils.
  • General filing and other administration support.

Training and Internal Support

  • Support the UKVI Compliance Officer in delivering guidance and reminders to staff on compliance processes.
  • Assist in preparing materials for staff briefings and agent communications.
  • Promote good practice in recordkeeping and compliance awareness across relevant departments.

Hours of Work:

This role is 0.5 FTE based on 18.75 hours per week. The exact working pattern can be flexible and discussed further at interview.

Remuneration:

The salary for this role will be £15,000 per annum (£30,000 FTE).

Holidays:

23 days (Pro-rata'd if required), plus bank holidays increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service.
