Assistant Technical Co-ordinator

Salary – £27,190 - £33,988 (plus benefits)
Hours – Full-time
Location – Knostrop, LS9 0PJ

As an Assistant Technical Co-ordinator at FCC Environment, you will support the Waste Treatment Division's Technical and Commercial Team by assessing waste enquiries, preparing transportation documentation, maintaining records and data, and ensuring compliance with legal and environmental requirements.

This vacancy is for a full-time position.

What will you be doing?

- Assess waste enquiries and determine suitability for acceptance
- Prepare quotations for treatment, transfer, and disposal services
- Interpret waste data to identify composition and safe handling requirements
- Ensure technical control activities comply with legal requirements and industry best practice
- Support the preparation of transport and waste documentation
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, drivers, and site teams
- Assist with the management of company vehicles collecting waste
- Maintain accurate records and provide data for invoicing and reporting
- Support compliance with environmental permits, duty of care requirements, and company procedures
- Assist in training and mentoring new starters when required

What are we looking for?

- A degree in Chemistry, HND in Chemistry, or a related scientific subject
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess chemical hazards and properties
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident user of Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- The ability to manage workload effectively and work to deadlines
- Hazardous waste treatment or chemical industry experience would be advantageous
- Flexible approach to work
