As an Engineering technician you will provide a comprehensive and professional engineering support service for the Steriles Business Unit (SBU) to meet the business & regulatory needs of the department, with responsibility for all engineering activities associated with the production process.

In this role you will…

  • Working with a range of equipment and technology within a Steriles Business Unit which consists oo Inspect/Assembly/packaging of vials.
  • The role will be shift based, likely 24/7 or 24/5.
  • Supporting day to day breakdown repairs of production / plant equipment.
  • Completing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules & breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Support for localised area projects, including new product introduction.
  • Completion of tasks within Engineering Change Controls.
  • Preparation, completion & ownership of GMP safety and quality documentation.
  • Accountable for the delivery of SAP/MERPS activities such as Work Orders, Notifications, Data Maintenance & Ordering of plant spares.
  • Delivery of Continuous Improvement to drive increased performance in line with EHS & Quality improvement objectives and KPI's via the use of GPS tools.
  • Equipment upgrades and obsolescence through continuous improvement.
  • Self-management of training compliance metrics.
  • Performing calibration of equipment instrumentation.
  • Supervision of internal/external contractors, ensuring GMP standards, reviewing contract company details for accuracy.
  • Sterile and terminally sterilised processes of products including boundary control and contamination prevention.
  • Building infrastructure specific tasks concerned with, building fabric, electricity, piped services supply and drainage.
  • Operation & maintenance of systems such as air compressors, VHP and refrigeration systems.
  • Positively engage with stakeholders, ensuring relevant contract details are accurate.
  • Deliver data cleansing activities to ensure optimum data maintenance.
  • Maintain compliance in the role, department and site procedures, processes and systems.
  • Manage the data creations and changes to SAP vendor data.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Multi skilled technician with an industry recognised apprenticeship and post-apprenticeship industry-based knowledge and experience.
  • Minimum of an HNC level qualification in an Engineering discipline
  • Hands on experience of GSK/Pharmaceutical processes and procedures
  • Experience with SAP business system
  • Demonstrable experience working with cross functional teams in a complex organisation
  • Required to demonstrate competence in current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP),
  • Strong experience of working in a complex GMP environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

Please note the following skills are not necessary, just preferred, if you do not have them, please still apply:

  • Experience working in classified areas such as ISO 5 or ISO 7. (working in a sterile manufacturing environment.)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to implement plans and holding yourself and team accountable for delivery goals
  • Ability to work under pressure
