Footwear Testing Technician
Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Salary: Up to £25,400 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Footwear Testing Technician to join a leading technical testing and compliance organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail who enjoys practical, hands-on work within a laboratory environment.
Working as part of an experienced laboratory team, you will be responsible for carrying out physical testing on footwear products, materials and components to ensure they meet relevant quality and performance standards.
Full training will be provided, making this role suitable for candidates with laboratory experience as well as those looking to develop a career within product testing.

The Role
As a Footwear Testing Technician, your responsibilities will include:
Conducting routine physical testing of footwear, materials and components using specialist laboratory equipment.
Following established testing procedures and health and safety guidelines.
Accurately recording and reporting test results.
Assisting with the maintenance and organisation of laboratory equipment, storage areas and testing facilities.
Supporting continuous improvement activities within the laboratory.
Maintaining accurate training and quality records.
Working to deadlines while ensuring high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
Collaborating effectively with colleagues across the testing team.

About You
Essential Requirements
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good planning and problem-solving abilities.
A proactive and positive attitude towards learning and development.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Desirable Experience
Previous experience working in a laboratory or testing environment.
Knowledge of footwear construction, materials and manufacturing processes.
Experience using technical testing equipment.
Understanding of quality systems and laboratory procedures.
