Role: Research Scientist Diagnostics
Location: Maxim Park, Motherwell, Scotland
Hours: Full-time
Pay: £17.00 per hour (£33,600 per annum equivalent)
Contract: 12 Months (MAT Cover)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Research Scientist Diagnostics to join one of our longstanding global healthcare clients on a 12-month contract basis (MAT Cover), starting at the end of May 2026.
This role sits within a dynamic and collaborative R&D team, where you will contribute to the development of innovative diagnostic solutions, delivering high-quality experimental work and meaningful data insights.

The Requirements:
- BSc or MSc in a relevant scientific discipline
- Experience within a laboratory or R&D environment
- Knowledge of diagnostic immunoassay technologies
- Strong data analysis and computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience with particle-based immunoassays or fluorescent detection
- Experience working with whole-blood assays
- Knowledge of GMP, GLP, GDP or biohazard environments
The Role:
- Design, execute and analyse experimental workstreams
- Follow and refine laboratory protocols to ensure accurate data generation
- Maintain detailed and compliant laboratory records and documentation
- Analyse results and provide clear conclusions and recommendations
- Support project timelines by managing multiple workstreams
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation
