?Our Scientist / Analytical Chemist is a key part of Broughton’s Laboratory Operations team. Principally responsible for performing chemical analyses on customers’ products within agreed deadlines and quality standards (GMP, ISO, UKAS).

?Responsibilities / Objectives

1. Perform analytical testing on client products
2. Adhere to study protocols
3. Adhere to company policy and procedure e.g. Dignity at work, Health & Safety, ALCOA
4. Record data in accordance with ALCOA principles 

Key Tasks

1. To perform chemical analysis to produce high-quality, compliant data for clients within the agreed timeframes.
2. Preparation of reagents
3. Preparation of samples and standards used in the testing
4. Instrumental techniques to be employed include:
5. HPLC, LC-MS
6. GC-FID, GC-MS
7. CETI-8
8. Maintaining the standards of housekeeping required in the laboratory
9. Production of data in accordance with the Quality Management System
10. Comply with the instructions given in test methods/study plans etc. Any deviation from these instructions should be documented and communicated directly to the line manager or study director/principal investigator for studies.
11. Any other duties as required to fulfil business goals

Qualifications and Education Requirements

?Graduate of chemistry or a related subject. 2 years of laboratory experience would be considered as an alternative.
