Temporary Sample Storage Assistant
Location: Glasgow
Contract: Temporary, initial 3-month assignment reviewed after 3 months
SRG are working with a leading organisation within the life sciences sector who are looking for a Temporary Sample Storage Assistant to join their team on an initial 3-month basis. This role will be reviewed after the first 3 months, offering a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a regulated storage environment supporting pharmaceutical, biopharma, healthcare and life sciences clients.
The successful candidate will support the efficient operation of sample storage areas, including the receipt, movement, labelling, storage and dispatch of incoming goods and biological samples. All work will be carried out in line with internal procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice standards, with full training provided where required.
This role is suitable for those with experience in a similar role or science graduates looking to gain life science industry experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Receive, move, label and store incoming goods and biological samples in line with SOPs and GMP standards.
- Check and inspect goods received, ensuring accuracy of quantity, type and quality before storage.
- Prepare, pack and label products prior to dispatch.
- Support inventory processes and ensure records are completed accurately and on time.
- Liaise with courier companies to coordinate dispatches and deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, visitors and suppliers.
- Support the maintenance of quality documentation, folders and spreadsheets.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
What we are looking for:
- Good standard of general education, with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Previous experience in an administrative, customer service, warehouse, logistics or regulated environment would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail, with good written communication and record-keeping skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on role involving manual handling and the use of associated lifting equipment, with training provided.
- Computer literate, including email, spreadsheets, data entry and databases.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise daily activities.
- A flexible, adaptable and team-focused approach.
- This role may also be suitable for science graduates looking to gain industry experience and GMP training.
