We are currently seeking a Trainee Powder Coater to join our client's busy and dynamic team.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding role, ideal for someone who is hardworking, reliable and comfortable with heavy manual work, lifting and handling large and heavy components. Full training will be provided, so previous powder coating experience is not essential.
The successful candidate will be trained in powder coating processes, surface preparation, finishing and general production duties. You will also be required to use hand and power tools and assist with the loading, unloading, moving and positioning of heavy items within the warehouse and production environment.
Working Monday to Thursday 7am - 4pm, with an early finish on Fridays
Immediate interviews and starts available
Up to £13.50 per hour
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of metal components prior to powder coating, including cleaning, sanding and grinding.
- Lift, carry and move heavy components and materials safely throughout the workplace.
- Load and unload large and heavy items from production areas and coating equipment.
- Assist with hanging, positioning and removing components ready for powder coating.
- Operate powder coating equipment once fully trained.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
- Assist with the fabrication and assembly of components when required.
- Carry out quality checks on finished products.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, particularly when handling heavy materials and equipment.
- Carry out other general warehouse and production duties as required.
Experience & Requirements
- No previous powder coating experience required - full training provided.
- Previous warehouse, manufacturing, engineering or labouring experience
- Must be physically fit and comfortable carrying out heavy manual work.
- Comfortable with regular lifting, carrying, loading and unloading of heavy components.
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely as part of a team.
- Basic maths and measuring skills would be advantageous.
- Willingness to learn how to safely use hand and power tools.
