Job Title: Trainee Plastics Fabricator
Location: Bridgwater
Salary: £25,000 per annum starting salary DOE, paid monthly in arrears
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: 39 hours per week, 7am – 4pm (Mon-Thurs), 7am – 12pm (Fri)
Start Date: Immediate
Holiday: 25 days per full calendar year, plus public holidays
Monmouth Scientific is a rapidly growing and developing Manufacturing company with a Plastic Fabrication and Engineering department. We offer high quality fabricated items in most commercial plastics. Examples include medical cabinets, Plastic Ductwork, Chemical Tanks, Plenums, Bunds, and Special Fabrications.
We currently have a Full-Time vacancy for a Trainee Plastic Fabricator. This is a rewarding role that will suit people with plenty of drive and enthusiasm. Although based in Bridgwater, there will be the option of occasional travel for installation work, sometimes with overnight stays. It would be desirable for the successful candidate to be able to demonstrate an understanding of technical drawings. Previous experience in another fabrication environment, such as wood or metal, would be an advantage. A self-motivated, willing and capable attitude towards learning and being part of our team is essential
Summary Of Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Using a variety of tools and techniques, to an excellent standard to produce plastic fabricated items
- Reading Technical CAD and other engineering drawings
- Plastics Welding in Polypropylene, PVC, or Polyethylene
- Use of mechanical Saws to an accurate and high standard, and use of Power Tools (training provided)
- Overseeing of own work from drawing to complete items
- De-burring and finishing of products post-assembly
- Ability to maintain a clean and manageable working area at all times, whether working alone or as part of the team
- Assisting with handling of materials, with the ability to load / unload Products and Vans in a safe manner, so as to negate any damage or injury to self, including occasional unloading of CNC Router after cutting
- Use of Pallet Truck or Forklift (after suitable training has been received / verified) to move Stock
- Adhering to all Health & Safety Policies issued by the Company at all times, especially those related to ‘Manual Handling’ and use of lifting or moving equipment
- Participation in any ad hoc Warehouse or other duties or activities required or deemed necessary, reasonable and appropriate by the Company (such as Stocktake)
- Attendance of ad hoc training programs to enhance performance & assist in own development
