Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, Depending on Experience
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday

We are currently recruiting for a Research & Trials Technician to join an established technical team. This is a varied opportunity suited to someone who enjoys combining practical activities with data collection, analysis and technical reporting.

Working across a range of projects, you will support the preparation and delivery of practical activities, complete assessments and measurements, record and analyse information and contribute to accurate technical documentation. You will work alongside experienced specialists while also having the opportunity to take responsibility for your own areas of work.

Key Responsibilities as Research & Trials Technician:

• Support the planning and delivery of research and technical projects
• Coordinate the practical requirements of ongoing project work
• Prepare equipment, materials and resources required for activities
• Carry out practical assessments, measurements and testing
• Collect, record and organise project data accurately
• Maintain clear and up to date records of project activities and findings
• Monitor ongoing work and report relevant observations to the wider team
• Assist with reviewing results and identifying trends or areas requiring further investigation
• Prepare reports, summaries and supporting technical documentation
• Assist with the preparation of new projects and updates to existing programmes
• Maintain, check and prepare equipment as required
• Monitor equipment and material requirements and assist with stock control
• Ensure work is carried out safely, accurately and in accordance with relevant procedures
• Work closely with colleagues and other project stakeholders to ensure work is delivered effectively

What we're looking for as Research & Trials Technician:

• A genuine interest in research, testing, science or technical project work
• A relevant degree or qualification in science, engineering, environmental studies or another related discipline would be advantageous
• Practical experience within a research, testing, laboratory or technical environment would be beneficial
• The ability to accurately collect, record and interpret information
• Good computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to record keeping
• Good organisational and time management skills
• The ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The confidence to work independently as well as part of a wider technical team
• A practical and hands on approach to work
• Willingness to travel to different locations when required
